As a trombonist, Milas has performed with the symphony orchestras in Phoenix and Tucson as well as the Southern Arizona Light Opera and The Arizona Touring Orchestra of Tucson. He also served as principal trombonist of the Scottsdale Symphony as well as the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra in North Carolina. He was a finalist for principal trombone positions with the West Point Military Academy Band, The United States Air Force Band and the United States Army Ceremonial Band.

In addition to his orchestral experience, Milas has performed with such artists as Perry Como, Sammy Davis Jr., Eddie Fisher, Johnny Mathis, Mickey Rooney, The Temptations, and Ben Vereen. He has performed with such notable big band arrangers as Mike Abene, Mike Crotty, Bob Freedman, Bob Mintzer and Fred Sturm. He has also performed in groups backing such artists as Wayne Bergeron, Jeff Clayton, Clay Jenkins, Rudhesh Mahanthappa, Tom “Bones” Malone, Bob Mintzer, Kim Richmond, Bobby Shew, Marvin Stamm, Ike Sturm, Clark Terry, Andy Timmons, Chris Vadala and Bill Watrous.

Recently, Milas has performed and recorded with the Kris Berg Metroplexity Big Band and can be found performing on the C.D.'s "This Time Last Year" and "Time Management." Most recently he has performed with local jazz groups such as the Superstition Jazz Orchestra, guest soloist with the Prescott High School Jazz Band, the Chandler High School Jazz Band, the new music ensemble Cactus Sandwich, The Nash Composers Coalition Septet, the New Guard Big Band, The Mammoth Ensemble performing the music of Japanese Anime Cowboy Bebop and the “All That Jazz” show with the Salt River Brass at the Mesa Arts Center.

Major solo and chamber performances by Mr. Yoes include Merlin Patterson’s Shadows For Trombone and Tape at the Sam Houston State Contemporary Music Festival as well as the Greater Southwest Trombone Workshop at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University. The Hector Berlioz Symphonie Funebre et Triomphal, op 15. for Solo Trombone & Wind Band with the University of Arizona Wind Ensemble, James Keene conductor and with the Phoenix College Community Band, Ron Phillips conductor. He has performed the Rimsky-Korsakov Concerto for Trombone and Band with the Yuma Community Band conducted by Marshall Olp. Milas also distinguished himself when he performed as a University of Arizona Concerto Competition winner the Arcady Dubensky Concerto Grosso for Three Trombones & Tuba and Orchestra on the President’s Concert in Centennial Hall. He also was a featured soloist on Desert Star for Trombone and Band by Albert Oliver Davis upon his 80th birthday celebration with a wind ensemble compiled of educators from throughout the state of Arizona. Dr. Richard Strange was the conductor.
