Mr. Yoes enjoys an outstanding reputation as a clinician with “Mad Skills!” If you are looking for an extra set of eyes and ears for your marching band, concert band or jazz band, you have come to the right place! He is also a great clinician for marching brass, jazz combo, jazz improvisation, and trombone performance.

When you watch Milas in a clinic you will be taken by the way he immediately connects with your students. They will be throughly engaged by his enthusiasm and spontaneity. Whether he is working with a marching band, a concert band, a jazz band, or an orchestra, he will use highly effective teaching concepts to immediately improve your ensemble’s performance.

Mr. Yoes has the uncanny ability to relate to students of all levels. This is why he is at the top of the list as an adjudicator, clinician and guest conductor throughout the Southwest. As a cancer survivor, Milas also has a special gift for motivation and inspiration for young people and directors alike. Two hours with him will prove to be a rich and rewarding experience for you and your students!

After not seeing each other for years, Milas and I had a mini reunion at the Texas Music Educators Association Convention, February 2019. When I found out he would be driving through El Paso, we coordinated our schedules and I invited him to clinic my Jazz Band. It was a real treat for my students! They loved him! He worked well with them, providing great comments and helpful ideas to make their performances better! I appreciated his calm but very energetic approach. His comments were spot on. They were exactly what we needed at that time! The day after he was in our band hall, the group earned straight One Plus’ at our district festival! I know, for certain, we will have him back in El Paso to work with our groups at Franklin HS. If you need a clinician, call Milas!!!

Working with Milas Yoes was an absolute pleasure. His cool and calm demeanor is very welcoming and refreshing.  His calm personality is contrasted with his burning passion for getting the music to sound “just right”. This guy works miracles with your band, and has more energy than the energizer bunny! My students actually had a hard time keeping up with him in rehearsal! He just keeps going, and going, and going! His work ethic, along with his experience, makes him a vital tool to assist your ensemble sound! I highly recommend you bring Milas to work with your students. You won’t be disappointed!

Our district has been fortunate enough to use Milas Yoes as an adjudicator and clinician. Beyond the typical expectations of a clinician, Milas finds a way to connect with the students and motivate them to work toward new goals and higher standards. His most recent visit was our 2019 district jazz clinic where he worked with thirteen jazz bands over two days providing a great educational experience. We look forward to having Mr. Yoes return in the future and continue this great relationship.
